We are a peer to the local phone company and support the primary line telephone services which you have come to expect: E911, operator services, line features such as Call Waiting, Caller ID with Name, Three-Way Calling, Call Forward, etc. And unlike many VoIP companies who deliver voice as an application over the Public Internet where quality is "best efforts" and highly dependent on their broadband Internet connection, voice calls with Cbeyond travel over a dedicated IP connection and never touch the Public Internet; allowing Cbeyond to manage the Quality of Service and achieve 99.999% availability.
Only Cbeyond has advanced technology to manage your available voice and data lines, giving you maximum flexibility and the highest possible upload and download speeds. We call that dynamic allocation. With other providers, you're forced to segment your bandwidth into voice and data lines, and when your phone lines aren't being used, the extra bandwidth sits idle. But with Cbeyond, when voice lines aren't in use more bandwidth is available for data, making your Internet speeds much faster. So you always get the most bang from your bandwidth.
