What services does my business need to subscribe to in order to add BeyondMobile services?
You must be a BeyondVoice subscriber to add BeyondMobile service to your account.
Once I order BeyondVoice, when will my mobile phone arrive?
Your phones will arrive within 2-5 business days of your BeyondVoice service installation. If you already are a BeyondVoice subscriber, your BeyondMobile phones will arrive 2-5 business days from when you authorize the purchase.
What additional services are available with my BeyondMobile service?
You can purchase BeyondMobile plus. With the optional upgrade to BeyondMobile Plus service for an extra $20 per month you also get:
  • Unlimited internet browsing
  • Unlimited instant messaging
  • Picture Mail for exchanging pictures with friends or colleagues
  • Additionally, you can purchase unlimited text messaging for an additional $10 per month.

What are the important features of the Katana LX?
The new Katana LX comes with the following features and services:

What is the warranty?
The Katana LX comes with a one year limited warranty from the manufacturer.
Is there a money-back guarantee? If so, what are the terms?
If the handheld and all of the in-box accessories are returned in their original condition within 30 days of purchase, Cbeyond will refund the cost of the handheld and the data service.1
What other fees apply?
Local, state and federal regulatory voice fees may apply, including federal and local taxes. E911, 411, Text Messaging(SMS) and other usage fees may also apply. See your service agreement for details.
If I decide to return my phone within 30 days, what do I have to do?
If for any reason, within the first 30 days of service, you decide you do not want to keep your wireless handheld you may cancel your service and receive a refund. To receive a refund, you must contact Customer Care by phone (email notifications are not allowed) and cancel your service. Customer Care will provide you with an RMA number and instructions on how and where to return your equipment. Equipment received without an RMA number will not be accepted. Cbeyond will cancel your service and credit your account accordingly.
Please note that in order to receive a refund, you must return the entire Handset Kit to the address shown below within 30 days of canceling your service. The Handset Kit includes the original packaging for the handset, the handset itself, the charger, the handset battery, instruction booklets, and/or any other materials included with the handset in the original packaging. If you fail to return your Handset Kit to Cbeyond within 30 days of canceling your service, you will be charged the full retail cost of the Handset Kit minus any amount that you originally paid to Cbeyond for the handset.
130-day return policy does not cover activation charges, shipping, taxes or handling fees. If the handset device is found not to be in its original condition, we may charge you to restore it to that original condition. Voice minutes will be billed on a pro-rata basis. Customer is responsible for shipping the device back at customer's expense.
Phone Availability
Can I add any mobile phone I want to my BeyondMobile service?
No. Due to the fact that the phones we sell need to be certified on our network and need to operate at a certain radio frequency, you can only add a phone to your service that you purchase through Cbeyond. Cbeyond is working hard to add many new models to our product catalog so if you don't see the model that you would like to buy, keep checking back with us via our website.
Activating Service
Once my phone arrives, is there any set-up required?
No. Your phone comes in working condition, activated for voice services. The manufacturer does encourage you to give your phone's battery a full charge before using it. If you are transfering in an existing phone number, this will take an additional step.

If you are upgrading to BeyondMobile Plus services, there are some additional set-up requirements in order to take advantage of the Katana LX's data services.
How do I move/transfer my existing number to my new Katana LX?
This step is optional and is only relevant if you have an existing phone number that you would like to move to your new Katana LX's. If you want to transfer your existing phone number, please review the instructions below and have your documentation ready before calling Cbeyond's customer care at 1-866-424-5100 between 8am & 8pm Eastern Standard Time, Monday thru Friday.
NOTE: Incorrect or incomplete information can delay the transfer process.
You will need a copy of your current service provider's bill and/or make sure you know the exact information listed below:
  • The name of your current service provider
  • The current, active phone number that you wish to transfer
  • The account number of your current service from your bill
  • Your name and address exactly as they appear on your bill
  • A number where you can be reached during the transfer
  • The account password for your current service
  • Your Social Security number, tax identification number, or other info that your current service provider can use to identify you.
If you are transferring your existing mobile number over to Cbeyond, you should maintain access to both your old phone and your new Cbeyond phone until the transfer is complete
Although you will be able to make calls from your new phone, including calls to 911,you may not be able to immediately receive calls on your new phone until the transfer process is complete (this includes return calls from 911 personnel).
Optional but strongly recommended:
You should call your previous provider once you have confirmation from Cbeyond that your transfer is complete and you have successfully made and received phone calls from your new phone. Confirm they have terminated your account and request a final bill. This step may save you from potential billing disputes with your previous provider.

The BeyondMobile voice & data network uses a national CDMA 2000® 1x network.

How can I tell if I'm in coverage?
In the top left corner of the home screen there is a icon of a telephone pole which should have bars appearing next to it. The best coverage is indicated by 6 bars. The more bars that you have, the better the coverage you are in.
What factors affect coverage?
Your Katana LX uses radio frequencies so coverage is affected by anything that could interfere with radio waves. Typically, you get better coverage outside of a building than inside.
Is there anything I can do to ensure I get the best coverage available?
The Katana LX has an internal antenna so it is imperative that you use it when you are in spotty coverage in a manner that maximizes the antenna's surface area. The best manner to do this is to have the phone at a vertical angle and to use a hands-free earbud so that your hand is not blocking the antenna.
International
Where does the Katana LX work internationally? Can I add international roaming to my BeyondMobile service?
There is no international roaming available with your BeyondMobile service. Cbeyond provides international roaming with your BeyondMobile service in Canada and some areas in Mexico. For an international coverage map and international roaming rates, go to CbeyondOnline (www.cbeyondonline.net) and search “International Mobile Roaming” in the FIND-IT-FAST Answer Center. International Mobile Roaming charges apply for any calls made or received while outside of the United States.
Can I add international dialing to my BeyondMobile service, if so, how?
Yes, you can add international dialing to your BeyondMobile service. However, you will incur additional, per call, charges. To activate international dialing, please call customer service at 1-866-424-5100 between 8am and 8pm Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday.
